I read this summery of research with interest and wondered whether men would rather access on-line support rather than speak with someone face to face. I know both have advantages - and online things can be shared anonymously.
This also links to what I aim to explore with my research - How and when do men decide to seek help? Where to they go? Are they aware of the support available - If you would like to share your experiences of seeking help I would very much like to hear from you.
This page has been created to reach potential participants for a research study being carried out to explore male’s experiences of help seeking for childhood sexual abuse. If you have any questions or concerns do not hesitate to contact me. Please be aware that any offensive content posted will be removed. This page is intended to be used for educational purposes and to advance understanding in to an area that remains largely silent and often stigmatised.
By participating in this research you can provide valuable information about your experiences whether you have sought help or not. This will help improve understanding of the experiences of male survivors and the aspects involved in the process of help-seeking for males.
